Supervision for Counsellors and Therapists:

Encouraging, developing, ethical

I offer reflective, supportive supervision for trainee and experienced counsellors. My approach is collaborative and grounded in mutual respect, helping you grow in confidence, competence, and ethical practice.

I trained in Integrative Supervision of Individuals and Groups at The Grove Practice. I'm familiar with a wide variety of modalities: integrative, psychodynamic, person centred, relational, existential, eclectic and pluralistic. I supervise either individuals or groups.

I deliver supervision online or in-person at my therapy room in Marylebone, London. I'm experienced in supervising trainees, developing practitioners and those who are experienced.

I also teach new supervisors through my work as a trainer at The Spark. I deliver the PDA in Counselling Supervision, a 6 month BACP approved training in how to be a supervisor.

What happens in supervision?

During supervision sessions, I ask supervisees to present full case presentations when bringing a new client. This involves a full description of the client's background, context and current situation including presenting issue.

Supervisees are encouraged to take ownership of their supervisory needs to make use of the sessions as you find most beneficial. I support supervisees by helping you think about the context of your client and how you can therapeutically support your client for the best possible outcomes. This can include explorations of working alliance, appropriate interventions and their efficacy, ethics and unconscious processes.

I'm also here to support you with your practice. This can include reviewing your CPD and learning needs, exploring how to maintain your wellbeing while working with clients and thinking together about the context of your work.

For trainee counsellors and psychotherapists, I can help ensure that your work is safe, ethical and appropriately boundaried. We can think together about your stage of development and learning as a therapist. I'm happy to liaise with training organisations and placements as required.

Supervision in different settings

Working with a wide range of supervisees

Higher Education

I have over 10 years experience in the higher education sector. I understand the concerns that students bring to HE counselling services: academic problems, anxiety, low mood, risk and identity issues. I recognise the constraints on working in this setting with limited resources and the importance to ethical practitioners of providing a therapeutic and ethical counselling service.

Private Practice

Working in private practice can sometimes be an isolating experience. I know how important it is to have a supervisor who helps to ground your practice and support you in your work. I can provide the bedrock that empowers you to do your best for your clients.

I can supervise those working for organisations, either as trainees or qualified practitioners. I understand that organisations have policies and procedures that impact how therapists practice. I can support you in working ethically and effectively with clients to achieve the best outcomes.
